Greater Noida would now be known as "Knowledge City" ...

 

Ms. Mayawati, CM UP, dedicated Gautam Buddha University to people, today on 23rd August 2008, at about 4.00 pm. She inaugurated admin building and announced the starting of first session of the university in her speech.

Welcome address was deliverred by Prof R S Nirjar , VC, GBU. He stated that GBU is the gift of Ms Mayawati to education world.. showerred praise on Chancellor Ms Mayawati for her "vision and dream of GBU ". Vote of thanks were proposed by Chairman Noida and Greater Noida Shri Lalit Srivastav.

Present on the occassion were Minister Thakur Jai Veer Singh, Minister Vedram Bhati, Shri Satveer Gujjar, MLA, Chief Secretary Shashank Sekhar, CEO Greater Noida Authority, Pankaj Aggarwal, GBU Registrar Shri Omveer Singh, Dr Pankaj Rana and Monica Bhati of GBU.

Shri Shravan Kumar, DM, GBN, extended Ms Mayawati a warm welcome... at helipad...at GBU.

In her speech she said that this university would have collabioration with universities in USA and Europe...she added that she had dreamt of this university six years back...During SP govt regime the project was dumped and the land had become barren....Education should be kept above politics... after BSP came to power ..we have speeded up the implementation of this project..

Mayawati announced setting up of an Institution on the pattern of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in Greater Noida. Mayawati blamed congress and SP for Kisan Andolan and stated that issues have been resolved to the satisfaction of farmers by the government. She naraated the incident as unfortunate. She stated that the Railway station project at Boraki has been approved by Railway Board, Maya showerred her choicest blessings on school childern who presented cultural programme, about 100 students to get Rs 25000 each..children smiled!. She also explained about her dream colleges and hospitals porjects. She said that Noida Sports City with ultra modern facility at the cost of Rs 2025 crore would be developed. She did not talk about the issue of electricity in the city of University.

She took podium thrice once for her speech, second to shower praise and prize to students.. and third time to tell people.."Do not go..... I am stiill here..we will together watch a short film ...on the vision of Gautm Buddha University".

Mayawati ..."Pari" of Uttar Pradesh was very relaxed and spent more than planned time.

She reached University about an hour late by helicopter from New Delhi.

Women were present in less numbers.

She showerred her choicest blessing by announcing Rs 25000 each to about 100 school children. August gathering gave most thunderrous appaluse to this announcement. She was too impressed with her look like school girl from Greater Noida. Do not be surprised if she names her as her heir...
