First meeting of INTACH Greater Noida Chapter held on 15th November 2008 under the Chairmanship of Shri Brijesh Kumar,at St Joseph's school with Principals and the co-ordinator Teachers from the schools. It was decided to form Intach Heritage Clubs to help create awareness about India's Heritage - especially local heritage sites - among students and teachers. National INTACH Team will conduct a workshop with the teachers to set up clubs in their schools. After the workshp teachers in consultation with principal to prepare a plan for heritage clubs for students it will include listing of heritage sites/locations/buildings/monuments, documentation and Resrach activities etc.. Help from artists. historians, craftsman from local area could be taken for documentation of natural, built and living heritage. Some of the Greater Noida heritage sitesare : . Bisrakh the birthplace of Rawan s father, Viseswa Rishi, lies in this land. In Dwapar Yug (Mahabharat Kaal)- Dankore was the Dronacharya s Ashram, where Kaurav n Pandav took their training in Astra n Shastra. Eklavaya-the disciple of Dronacharya also hails from this place.
